The dealership was established in 1923 by William Johnston. For more than four generations we have been offering quality vehicles and exceptional service to the community of Hamilton.

At Johnston Chrysler Dodge Jeep, our aim is not to sell you a car, but rather to help you purchase a vehicle and guide you through the ownership experience. Our philosophy is simple: customer satisfaction.
Johnston Motor Sales Co. Ltd was founded in 1923 by our grandfather / great grandfather, William. It has remained a family business for over 80 years and four generations and has become one of the oldest automobile dealerships in the province.
Located for many years at the corner of King Street and Sanford Avenue, we moved to our present location at Upper James and Stone Church in 1973. Since then, the building and the staff have expanded as the family of Johnston customers has grown.

History of Our Dealership
Johnston Motor Sales was opened in 1923 by my Great Grandfather at the corner of King St. and Burris Ave. We sold Star and Durant until 1933 when we switched to Chrysler and moved the dealership to the corner of King St. and Sanford Ave. In 1973 we became the second automobile dealer to move to the Hamilton Mountain in the heart of what has become the Hamilton Mountain Auto Mall.
We are very proud of our heritage at Johnston Motor Sales. We are now the oldest automobile dealership in Hamilton and one of a handful of four generation dealers in Canada. We feel our longevity is a testament of our dedication to our customers.
We are equally proud of the loyalty and dedication of our family of employees. Presently 8 employees have been with the dealership for over 25 years and over half of our staff has been with us for over 10 years. When you choose to deal with Johnston Motor Sales you can do it with the comfort that when you return you will see familiar faces each and every time.
