Who says you can't have your cake and eat it, too? In the case of the 2015 Ram 1500, this includes all the power of a pickup truck combined with the comfort of ‒ dare we say it? ‒ a premium sedan.

Ram offers the 1500 in multiple configurations expected by truck shoppers. There are three cabs, three beds, three drivetrains and three engines alone. Add to this six main trims ‒ Tradesman, Express, HFE, SLT, Sport and Laramie ‒ and truck buyers can create the pickup of their dreams. The Ram 1500 won Motor Trend Magazine's Truck of the Year award both in 2013 and 2014, a first back-to-back win for any automobile. It also won the Truck of Texas award for both years as well, also a first in the segment.

Yet the brand is not resting on its laurels. The exterior color pallet of the 2015 Ram 1500 gets a new addition. Several of the option packages also get updated. All these build on the major refreshes made in 2013 and 2014 which helped it win those awards.

Both the 1500 Tradesman and Express are the entry-level models of the lineup. They're aimed as a basic workhorses for commercial sites. Standard equipment of note include a bench seat, automated headlamps and a tilt-only steering wheel. Some configurations come with power windows and door locks. The Tradesman and Express primarily differ in wheel sizes and exterior features like the bumper and front grille.

The "HFE" in the Ram 1500 HFE stands for "High Fuel Efficiency". It's only available in a regular cab body style and 6'4" truck bed configuration. Drivetrain is rear-wheel. (Neither four-wheel drives are offered.)

Standard audio and phone connectivity, power everything, and heated side rearview mirrors are just some of the features found in the well-equipped, mid-level Ram 1500 SLT.

The Sport model in the 1500 line ramps up the fun factor of the pickup with 20-in. wheels, power-adjustable pedals, and a leather-wrapped, heated steering wheel. A special R/T edition is available for 1500 Sport fans who want more exclusivity.

Finally, the top-level Laramie is offered in not just one, but three distinct models for lux-truck buyers. The regular 1500 Laramie comes with such niceties as standard leather upholstery and a 10-speaker audio system. The Laramie Longhorn gets a navigation system as standard and upgraded leather seats. The Laramie Limited builds on the other two with a unique air-based suspension system. The every helpful staff at your local Ram dealership will happily provide specific detail on each Ram 1500 truck
